Visiting on Pride Weekend

Please be advised that the celebration significantly affects traffic and draws large crowds to the Civic Center area.  To help make your visit smooth and enjoyable, please note:

Expect Crowds in the area

• Saturday: Busy, but generally easier to navigate.
• Sunday: Lighter in the morning; significantly busier after the Pride Parade reaches Civic Center.

Recommended Routes

Some surrounding streets may be restricted or closed during the weekend. Check transit and traffic updates before your visit.

Due to street closures surrounding Civic Center, the most reliable access points are:

• Polk Street @ Golden Gate Avenue
• UN Plaza
• Hyde Street @ Market Street

Security Checkpoints

Security screening will be in place throughout Civic Center during Pride weekend. For details please see SF Pride’s safety information page. 

• Metal detectors will be in use at entry points to the Civic Center area.
• Wait times are typically shortest at Polk Street & Golden Gate Avenue.
• UN Plaza and Hyde & Market entrances often experience longer lines, especially on Sunday.
• All visitors should plan for additional time to pass through security checkpoints.

Parking Garages

• UC Law garage (Larkin) and Civic Center garage are expected to be open on Friday, but will be closed Saturday and Sunday
