Don’t know what to do with all your old cell phones? Here’s your chance to get rid of all those unwanted cell phones taking up space in your drawers and have them repurposed into art.
If you’d like to participate in this unique art project by donating old cell phones, please bring your items to the location listed below by September 12, 2019. Include your email address if you would like to receive the museum’s e-newsletter and stay informed about the exhibition and related public conversation with the artist. For more information about Jean Shin, go to www.jeanshin.com.
*Please note that donated technologies will become a permanent part of the artwork and will not be returned to the owner. Technology does not have to be operable; all conditions welcome. For old phones, please delete content and remove SIM card before donating.
We will only accept cell phones. Items may be delivered to the Asian Art Museum Tuesdays through Sundays between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the admission desk. The museum is located 200 Larkin Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.
Phones may also be mailed to:
